Ferrule Materials:
 
Aegis Linen base laminate, pressed together in layers using a phonelic-like resin under high heat and pressure. Very hard, not brittle, hits like ivory.
 
Ivorine III Used on McDermott. Linen base Laminate, not as hard as Aegis, but still very durable. Soft white in color, slightly softer than the Aegis.
 
Fiber Ferrule used on Huebler. Made of pressed cotton fibers and is porous. Very Durable Ferrule material.  Will withstand much abuse without cracking or chipping.  off-white in color.
 
PVC Ferrell Similar to what is used on Meucci. Made of inorganic material.  Will not absorb moisture. Least Durable of ferrule offered. But provides the softest hit.
